Testimonials from graduates of Yoga ONE’s teacher trainings:
“Shane Davis is a well-rounded, anatomically, neurologically, kinesiologically versed, engaging instructor for Yoga Teacher Certification 200 hours and beyond. Deacon Carpenter’s Ayurvedic knowledge transmission and incredible yoga teacher specialists make this the teacher training everyone should experience.”
–Jeannette Grace, MPT, Kaiser Permanente (2016 graduate)
“What stands out in teacher training with Shane Davis is his deep rooted commitment to produce safe, knowledgable yoga teachers with a firm understanding of anatomy and asana. Shane teacher in a very approachable, unassuming and humble way. He does not just give you information; he communicates with you and wants you to communicate back. With the knowledge I gained in teacher training I have been able to teach, not just in the US, but also Asia and Europe with confidence, and have quickly been able too build my reputation as a teacher with a lot of anatomy intelligence, even in education heavy yoga communities such as Denmark. I truly feel that Shane has not only given me the best training I could have received in 200 hours, he has also left me with a humility for his knowledge and an understanding that my education in yoga has only just begun, and for that I am eternally grateful.
As an absolute bonus, Shane has been my yoga cheerleader ever since my training and he is still the first person I text when I book an exciting yoga gig.”
-Nina Jarnum, YogaONE 200-hour RYT Certified Yoga Teacher (2014 graduate)
“Starting and completing the 200hr YTT with Shane Davis at Yoga One was the best decisions I could have made.
Yoga One is a wonderful yoga community to become a part of and completing the 200hr teacher training at the studio with Shane was the best experience. His passion and knowledge of yoga shows in his in-depth comprehensive lessons.
Overall what I am most grateful for was the extra anatomical focus of the 200hrs. Although it was a painful process, the extent of anatomy presented in the course sets you far beyond other teachers completing different programs; the extra knowledge has been of immense value to me as a yoga teacher.
You can be sure you will complete the teacher training feeling confident, prepared and well nurtured in body and mind.”
-Amaijah Summers, YogaONE 200-hour RYT Certified Yoga Teacher (2014 graduate)
“The 200-hour yoga teacher training program at Yoga One was very informative and helpful. Shane has a thorough understanding of anatomy, and breaks down each pose into minute detail. Now that I am teaching, I feel confident knowing I can lead students into poses safely and with care. And the emphasis on teaching practicums enabled me to feel ready to teach my own class upon completion of the course. While Shane is extremely knowledgable, he is also very approachable and will gladly answer any questions. I learned so much, and saw tremendous personal growth throughout the training program.”
-Katy Fishman,YogaONE 200-hour RYT Certified Yoga Teacher (2015 graduate)
The desire to teach yoga often comes from a place of love and appreciation of the benefits of the practice in body and mind. Our teacher training incorporates the tools of knowledge and leadership, giving you the ability to guide your students to experience all of the benefits this ancient system has to offer.
When people first come to a practice of yoga, they usually think of the physical practice of poses, for that reason the first emphasis of this training is teaching safe, therapeutic breathing and body movement, which naturally supports healthy posture. In order to facilitate this we will study anatomy and kinesiology (the study of movement) in very practical and approachable ways.
Students of yoga often start with postures but end up loving the practice for the numerous other benefits in their emotional health and their spiritual life. We’ll dive deeply into our own practices, using them to lead a journey through self exploration, a path every teacher must undertake to be authentic in sharing what they’ve discovered in their own experience. Meditation becomes key to guiding us in this odyssey.
At the same time we will explore the barriers to communication and how to move past them in order to become more effective.
From the beginner to the more experienced practitioner, there is something for everyone in this training. Even if you don’t wish to be a teacher this course can deepen your understanding in dynamic ways. Always keeping the perspective of the student in mind, we consistently become better leaders. Whatever your chosen path, this training can help you bring about healthy change in your life and others!interpersonal relationships, with students and beyond. Understanding and sharing our own limitations in body and mind helps us cultivate compassion and understanding for the wide variety of experiences that can be had by yoga students.
